How will Gen-Xers contribute to the fall of WTBS?
by LDH inis it because we're a cynical lot?.
maybe because we were the first generation of latch-key kids who learned how to raise ourselves?.
what is it that makes it so 'hard to lie to a gen xer?

How the Net will reduce WTS ranks
by Seeker inshe is studying with one of jws.
she has a study with her teacher, and then she comes here and talks about it.
she learns that the wts teaches one thing to new ones, but something else entirely to those who are already baptized.

Because I got to see these men on a daily basis in various settings, this post is dedicated to my fav/least fav GB.
Favs:
Milton Henschel - He was always friendly, down-to-earth and was never too high on himself to speak to the little guy. Always cracking a joke here and there. Tall mofo. At least 6-5. Didn't have an air about him during his time as WTS president.John Barr - I probably liked him the best. He and his wife were equally kind, generous. Sat at their morning worship table. He would let you have your space. I wasn't a morning worship person, so he had the sense to leave me alone, while others would just try to carry on meaningless convos with you.
Daniel Sydlik - To new boys coming in, he was the man. Always gave humorous stories, talks and anecdotes. Had a thing for the ladies. Was the ORIGINAL PLAYER.
Gerard (sp?) Losch - One of the younger GB's. Was coming as I was leaving the Big House. Spoke 7 languages fluently. Hated football and would rag on the brothers that played football during lunch. Overall, good spirited. Not too judgemental. Level-headed.
Lyman Swingle - Dead now. When I was there he was always straight to the point. Always said things that you were thinking but wouldn't dare say.
Least Favs
Carey Barber - Moody, judgemental. Definitely old-school. His talks were always laced with the judgmental, we're better than you, support the org or you're from the devil mentality.Karl Klein - Dead and gone. Was sick a lot when I was there. NEVER understood what the hell he was saying. VERY moody probably because of his various illneses.
Schroeder - Used to hate this man's wife. Had such an air about her. She ALWAYS had something to complain about. She was in 360 Furman Tape Dupe when I was there.
Gangas - Yeah, I know he was old and all, BUT I ABSOLUTELY HATED being quizzed by him on the elevators.
Lloyd Barry - Was always kinda aloof. Period.
Theodore Jaracz - He was a DICK plain and simple.
Freddie Franz - By the time I got to Bethel, he was a walking corpse. Never really some him outside of the infirmary.
When I have some time, I'll elaborate and get into specifics. But for now these were some of my general impressions of the GB. Join in, especially if you served a prison sentence at the house.

Which is better in your estimation? Hit the BORG with a D.A. letter or do the slow fade. I'm finding the slow fade route works better for me. Too many family, friends and business contacts are JW's. For awhile I was hoping for some sort of reform movement (especially when I was at Bethel) but the chances of that happening are slim to none. At the same time, I couldn't just drop a D.A. letter out of the sky because that would just create too many problems that I have no time and motivation to deal with right now. So I'm slowly fading into the woodwork. Everybody figures that I'm busy with school and work (which I am and are convenient excuses). I hit 2 Sunday meetings and 1-2 TMS meetings a month and am slowly wittling that down.
The WTS as much as they don't want to admit it is indeed a cult. I look at my life and realize that they by way of their views on association, isolationism and separatism had their tentacles in all facets of my life. So if and when the time comes where you want to leave, you're basically jacked for many years to come. The key is building a roster of friends, associates and contacts (and even family) outside of the WTS so that you have something to fill the void. It takes time and that's why the slow fade works for me.
What about y'all? What the pros and cons of a quick and fast D.A. vs. a slow fade. Discuss...........

God's Beginning?
by Black Man inwhat do you think of the wtbts explaining away of god not having a beginning?
ps.
90:2 is always quoted and explained as he's always just been there and that we as humans will never grasp that concept because we have a beginning and will have an ending (death).

What do you think of the WTBTS explaining away of God NOT having a beginning? Ps. 90:2 is always quoted and explained as he's always just been there and that we as humans will never grasp that concept because we have a beginning and will have an ending (death). How did God come to exist? How could he just always have been? Who/what created him? Another in a series of questions that are just haunting. Comments, anyone?
